Education:
Tania is a graduate of the Kaiser Hayward Orthopedic
Manual Therapy program emphasizing in the diagnosis
and treatment of complex orthopedic conditions. She
has also attended the Kaiser Vallejo Proprioceptive
Neuromuscular Facilitation program emphasizing
treatment in stroke, spinal cord, and traumatic
brain injuries. She has taken numerous continuing
education courses on the shoulder, spine, knee,
foot, and thoracic outlet syndrome. Tania is a
Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and
is also a Credentialed Clinical Instructor with the
APTA. Currently, she is working towards her Pilates
certification.
Rehabilitation Specialties:
Tania’s interests include postoperative and
non-operative conditions of the spine, foot, and
shoulder, sports training for children and teens,
and neurological rehabilitation.
Hobbies:
Dancing, hiking, biking, scrap-booking, and laughing
with my son.

Michelle
Demai, M.P.T.
Education:

Education:
Michelle’s continuing education has focused on the
upper and lower cervical spine, cervicogenic pain,
the lumbopelvic region and pelvic pain. She is also
skilled in non-operative and post-operative
rehabilitation of the shoulder and knee, sports
injury rehabilitation and prevention, and functional
relationships of the lower extremity.
Michelle has an advanced personal training
certification from the American College of Sports
Medicine. She was an undergraduate sports medicine
teaching assistant for U.C. Berkeley. She is a
certified water exercise instructor and is currently
working towards her Pilates certification.
Rehabilitation Specialties:
General orthopedic both non and post-operative,
sports injury prevention and wellness, and
rehabilitative water therapy.
Hobbies:
Michelle was a four year varsity student athlete for
U.C. Berkeley’s NCAA division I swim team. She was
the recipient of the Mary T. Meagher swimming
scholarship, was an Olympic trial qualifier, and is
nationally ranked. She enjoys swimming, dancing,
drawing, painting, spending time with family, and
being a mom.

Ted Glattke,

Postgraduate Education/Certifications:
Ted is a Certified Clinical Instructor for the APTA
and is a member of the International Academy of
Orthopedic Medicine-United States.
Rehabilitation Specialties:
Ted has taken numerous advanced clinical education
courses in differential diagnosis and manual therapy
for spine and extremities. He has successfully
rehabilitated literally hundreds of patients with
total joint replacements and has
trained/rehabilitated athletes from all major
professional sports including NBA, NFL, MLB, and
even the PBA Tour, as well as Olympic Track and
Field athletes.
Hobbies:
Ted has many sports interests including golf, track
and field, and basketball. He is an avid golfer,
former 7 foot high jumper, Member Cal Track Team
1983-1988, former touring professional bowler
1989-1992, PBA Titlist, Member National Collegiate
Bowling Hall of Fame and Two-time All-American.

Carrie
Susan Haraburda, MSPT
Education:

Education:
Along with her Personal Training Certification,
Carrie has had extensive education in treatment of
the shoulder. Her continuing education classes
include: Evaluation and Treatment of Orthopedic
Shoulder Injuries, Recent Advances in the Evaluation
and Treatment of the Shoulder, Myofascial Release by
John Barnes, I, II and Fascial-Pelvis along with a
Spring Training Shoulder Symposium: Diagnosis,
Treatment and Rehabilitation of Shoulder Injuries.
Carrie has also completed courses in: Recent
Advances in the Evaluation and Treatment of the
Knee, and Back to Golf.
Rehabilitation Specialties:
Shoulder rehabilitation, non-operative and
especially post-operative, knee rehabilitation
post-operative, myofascial release techniques, and
screening athletes and non-athletes for muscular
imbalances and prescribing an exercise program to
prevent injuries.
Hobbies:
Downhill skiing, photography, travel, gardening,
trying to be a golfer, being a mom to baby Caitlyn.

Deanna (Deedee) Brodke Savant,

Deedee is credentialed in Mechanical Diagnostic
Therapy through the McKenzie Institute, and is a
Certified Pilates Instructor through Synergy
Fitness, a Certified Injury Prevention Specialist
through Future Industrial Technologies, and has
completed the Kaiser Vallejo program in
Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation. She has
additional training in Osteopathic Manual Therapy
and Cranial-Sacral Therapy with instructors from
Michigan State University and the Upledger
Institute. Deedee is an instructor for the Pilates
Instructor Certification Program at Lafayette
Physical Therapy, and for the the Kaiser Hayward
Manual Therapy Program. She is a former clinical
instructor for University of Wisconsin, Madison
Department of Physical Therapy

Abe has completed the Kaiser Permanente Hayward
Physical Therapy Fellowship in Advanced Orthopedic

method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment of the
Spine. Abe has taken several continuing education
courses in manual and orthopedic physical therapy.
He is a member of the American Physical Therapy
Association and is also a Fellow of the American
Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists.

Valerie
Watase, B.S.P.T, Director
Education:

conjunction with U.C.L.A. School of Medicine) in

Education:
Valerie has 25 years of experience with an emphasis
in musculoskeletal and neurological rehabilitation.
She is a graduate of Kaiser Vallejo's Proprioceptive
Neuromuscular Facilitation program, emphasizing
treatment for musculoskeletal, stroke, spinal cord,
and brain injuries. She has completed a year long
Orthopedic Manual Therapy course, with emphasis on
techniques developed in Australia. Valerie is a
Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. She
has hundreds of hours of continuing education and is
currently working toward her Pilates Certification.
Rehabilitation Specialties:
Valerie’s specialties include cervical spine
problems, cervicogenic headaches, postural,
abnormalities, osteoporosis exercise design,
geriatric rehabilitation, and balance disorders.
Valerie is also experienced in equestrian injury
rehabilitation and preventative screening, and
hippotherapy.
Hobbies:
Valerie has been a life long equestrian and avid
hiker. She loves to garden, camp, be outdoors and
spend time with her two daughters.
Awards:
She is a National Champion in Equestrian
Competition; North American Trail Ride Association.
