Our History & Philosophy

Lafayette Physical Therapy has served the greater community for over 48 years. We are locally owned and operated with an unyielding dedication to serving our community. Our family-oriented care is seen within the rapport among our patients and staff who maintain a professional yet relaxed and enjoyable environment.

We are dedicated to the highest quality physical therapy and rehabilitation services. Our team of physical therapists have advanced degrees and extensive experience to provide the best care and services to you. We also contract with exceptional wellness providers who are certified Massage Therapy providers, certified CranioSacral Therapists and certified instructors. Their knowledge and enthusiasm push for progress within individual and small group settings. We also host cutting-edge technology and equipment to further rehabilitation, conditioning and strengthening independently or with a trained instructor.

Our allegiance to rehabilitation and wellness within our community is notable within our clinical, professional, and social endeavors.

We want to put out a special thank you to Valerie Watase, PT, former Co-Owner of Lafayette PT. Valerie retired at the end of 2020 and we want to thank her for over 40 years of service. She has helped thousands of patients and made a significant impact on the community. Lauren Masi, PT, DPT, OCS, ATC, Clinical Services Director, and Owner is dedicated to furthering our mission and continuing to provide the vital services, compassion, and care that the community deserves.

Now Serving You in Two Locations

We have two locations in the Bay Area – Lafayette Physical Therapy, in Lafayette, CA, and Bay Area Physical Therapy in Pleasant Hill, CA. Both locations are owned and operated under “Lafayette Physical Therapy, Inc,” a local woman-owned business. Bay Area Physical Therapy joined Lafayette Physical Therapy in January 2016. Together our focus is on helping improve the health of our community by providing patients and their families with health, healing, and education through comprehensive physical therapy, therapeutic massage, wellness services, and diagnostic testing.

Good Faith Estimate Information

Patient Right: Estimate of Cost of Services

Lafayette Physical Therapy, Inc. (Lafayette Physical Therapy and Bay Are Physical Therapy) will provide all patients who do not have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for therapy services. Please retain a copy of your “Good Faith Estimate” (GFE) quote.

  • Our initial estimate will be for the cost of the first visit, which will be for the evaluation. This estimate will be provided to you at least one (1) business day prior to the evaluation or prior to scheduling, if you prefer.
  • Before commencing with a treatment, a second estimate will be provided to you based on the established Plan of Care. If your Plan of Care needs modification during the episode of care because of your therapy needs, a new condition, or per your request, you will be informed and provided with a new estimate, and you will have the option to continue or cease treatments.
  • If you receive a bill that is $400 or more than the “Good Faith Estimate,” you can dispute the bill utilizing the Patient-Provider Dispute Resolution Process. The dispute resolution entities (SDR) are certified and selected by Health & Human Services (HHS). You must submit a dispute notice, the provider’s bill, and the “Good Faith Estimate” to HHS within 120 days of receiving the final bill from our practice. HHS will collect a $25 fee with your dispute resolution application.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises  or call Lafayette Physical Therapy, Inc. at 925-284-6150.
