Success Story: Stephanie Hayes, an Aide’s Perspective

We received a glowing letter from a former staff member and she allowed us to share it with you.

Hey Lauren [Clinical Services Director at LPT],

I hope all is well with you and LPT/BAPT. I just wanted to reach out and say thank you for all that you have done for me. A little over a year into PT school, it is very apparent that I am well beyond any of my classmates in experience, even if we had the same amount of hours [working in a physical therapy clinic] going in to school.

I truly appreciate that you hold LPT to a very high standard of care, from evidence-based practice to stringently good form during exercises. Especially while taking Ther-x and Physical Agents, I felt confident in my large mental bank of exercises to prescribe and I felt that I already had a clear understanding of most of the modalities that we were learning in class. My classmates would playfully fight over being my lab partner because they knew that I had a good understanding of what was I was doing and why, and for that I thank you.

I also appreciate that you and the team at LPT have cultivated an environment where each Physical Therapist is valued for their individual skill set and strengths. During my time as an aide, I got to soak up so many different styles, variations of treatments and exercises which makes me feel confident as I create my own treatment style. I have “wow-ed” my classmates and professors with some of Travis’ self-mobs [Physical Therapist at LPT] and Tim’s [Clinical Manager of BAPT] cervical stability exercises.
