Shawn Rigdon, PT, DPT

As an undergrad, Shawn was a founding member of the Kinesiology research group where he worked with athletes, faculty, and staff with training and wellness activities. While completing his doctorate degree, he was a peer tutor for Biomechanics, Anatomy, and Physiology.
Prior to PT school, Shawn was a certified personal trainer through NESTA. He has completed advanced courses for physical therapy including shoulder pathology and Mulligan Manual Therapy courses. He has been with Lafayette Physical Therapy for almost two years, helping us better serve our community through health and wellness.
Shawn loves reconnecting his patients with activities that they thought they could never do again or modifying those activities so patients can enjoy something similar. He is skilled with orthopedic injuries, sports injuries, balance and agility. His favorites areas to treat are the back, shoulders, and ankles.
Shawn is a black belt in Taekwondo and used to compete in sparring. He is trained in boxing, Judo, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. In the past he has done gymnastics/tumbling. In his spare time, he loves to exercise and rebuild old vehicles.
