Lafayette Physical Therapy

Dear Patients and Community,

We are closely monitoring the latest news, guidance, and regulations surrounding the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic. As healthcare providers, we believe Physical Therapy is a crucial part of the health and wellness for our communities. We also understand the critical importance of slowing the spread of COVID-19. We fully support the shelter-in-place ordinance and social distancing, and understand the importance of helping our clients resume their physical therapy sessions.

While we strongly believe in the benefits of in-person treatment, telehealth visits have proven to be an effective means of delivering Physical Therapy, and have a lot of unique benefits as well. Telehealth Physical Therapy is an excellent alternative to in person visits during this current shelter in place order, and can be used if a client is ill, homebound, or are unable to travel to their appointments. The expertise of a skilled Physical Therapist can ensure you continue to make progress in your Physical Therapy program from the comfort and safety of your home. It can also present a unique opportunity for your therapist to see how you interact in your home environment and allow your plan of care to be tailored further.

What to Expect:

  • Prior to your Telehealth visit you will receive a confirmation email which will include information on your appointment date, time, therapist, and detailed instructions on how to log into the Doxy Telehealth Portal.
  • The Telehealth Portal is available through a link and is very easy to access and use. Doxy has a Pre-Call test you can do to ensure everything is set up on your computer, tablet, or phone so you will be ready for your appointment.
  • Using live video on the secure telehealth platform, your provider will be able to see you in real time and discuss and address the concerns you have regarding pain, range of motion, and functional limitations.
  • Your provider will develop and progress a treatment plan with you which may include exercise, stretching, management of your condition, and more.
